Melody Movement with Melody Bear

Melody Movement introduces children to dance and movement using the natural actions of the body such as running, walking, jumping, hopping, skipping and galloping.  It is structured to aid children’s physical development, coordination, spatial awareness, sensory development,  creativity and self-expression, working individually, with a partner, or as a group.
Melody Movement also introduces children to other fundamental curriculum learning skills such as counting, colour and shape recognition, vocabulary and language skills.  The strength of the system is that learning is achieved through imaginative movement which is enjoyable and fun.  Melody Movement provides every child with the opportunity to discover and fulfil their own potential whilst nurturing creative development.

Jill says, “Melody Movement instils a love of dance making it a positive element of their early lives which stays with them.  They learn from a young age how music, movement, dance and the imagination can be combined to tell a story and convey emotions.”

The Melody Movement syllabus has been specially developed by Jill Bridger to promote young children’s physical fitness and early learning skills. The syllabus also complements the Early Years Foundation stage.

Melody Bear shares her life outside the dance studio with her friends at class. Here is an example of one of her many creative themes from her ‘Busy Week’ stories.  We look at the picture and dance her washing dance. Oh dear! It started to rain and we had to bring all our washing in quickly but the rain dance was fun too! Melody Bear had a good idea for us to make a magic spell for all the housework to be done for us!
Thank you Melody Bear.
