Melody Movement Student Assistant Development Programme
The Melody Movement Student Assistant Development Programme (SADP) is an innovative new training programme and award scheme for your student helpers. It is designed to guide, support and recognise senior students who help in Melody Movement Early Learning dance classes. In addition to teaching students the principles of class assisting, it develops students’ generic skills such as leadership, organisation, planning and communications. There are three stages within the SADP with students’ skills progressing through each stage. The recommended minimum ages are listed below. There is no upper age limit.
Stage 1: Bronze Award - school year 8
Stage 2: Silver Award - school year 9
Stage 3: Gold Award - school year 10
Each stage includes three units; tutorials, practical sessions and tasks. Students complete each stage before progressing to the next. Completing all stages of the SADP is recognised when students progress to the MMEL Associate Teaching award.

“I’ve always loved helping out in classes but the SADP has given me things to work towards and opportunities to improve different skills. My confidence has massively increased and my leadership skills have definitely got better. I really enjoy doing the tasks that I’m set and I felt a great sense of achievement once I’d completed them all. The 3 year old who presented me with my medal was nearly as proud as I was!”
Holly, age 14, Cambridgeshire
